[Texting] - Using SMS Templates

If you find yourself sending the same message over and over again, consider using an SMS template.

Creating an SMS Template

    1. Locate the app picker in the top left corner of any page in Gradforce.

    2. Start typing "sms template" into the search box and click SMS Templates under Items.

    3. Click New in the top right corner.

    4. Name your SMS template and enter the text into the body. We highly recommend the use of merge fields for bulk texts - see this article for more information on merge fields.

    5. Leave Form Template blank and WhatsApp Enabled unchecked.

    6. Click Save.

Viewing your SMS Templates

To see all of your existing SMS templates:

    1. Follow steps 1-2 above.

    2. Click the down arrow next to Recently Viewed and select All.

Using SMS Templates

To use your SMS templates:

    1. When texting one student through their record page, look for this icon and select your template from the dropdown list.

    2. When texting many students through the bulk interface, look for this field and select your template from the dropdown list.

Unfortunately, the SMS Template interface does not include a character counter. If you select your template from the bulk interface and find it exceeds 160 characters, go back to the SMS template and modify it to include fewer characters. For more information, see "Avoid Being Flagged for Spam" in this article.
